Energy & marine
Alfa Laval has been providing the marine and energy sectors with class-leading separation technology for decades. Our innovations ensure optimal performance and energy savings, with reduced environmental impact to support sustainability and secure compliance with regulations. The total result is optimization to give you maximum performance and reliability.
Customer case: Alfa Laval
Alfa Laval’s production unit in Eskilstuna improves the efficiency of 40 metal working machines by cleaning the cutting fluids. The fluids are efficiently cleaned by a separator in an integrated in-loop system.
Customer case: Outokumpu
Outokumpu, the global leader in stainless steel, was able to maximize production efficiency while reducing its carbon footprint by using a range Alfa Laval equipment. The new way of working also results in less scrap, and better quality in the final products.
Alfa Laval Explore - a new online tool
Alfa Laval launches a new online tool aimed for the process industries that are facing separation challenges and want to improve their performance. Alfa Laval Explore quickly screens and predicts separation performance.
Engine protection with Alfa Laval separators
Fuels is the single biggest operating cost of a ship, and professional fuel management is essential to avoid serious breakdowns. Hear from marine industry experts about how Alfa Laval separation technology helps lower costs and mitigate risks at sea.
Alfa Laval PureNOx: EGR water treatment with a difference
EGR has always been simple, compact and cost-effective but with the latest PureNOx developments, those advantages are even greater. PureNOx systems are now optimized according to the fuel sulphur level: low-sulphur (LS) or high-sulphur (HS).
Alfa Laval PureBilge: Bilge water treatment for real-life conditions
Alfa Laval self-cleaning centrifuge (total discharge)
Lube oil centrifugation enables you to discard waste without the need to buy disposables such as filter cartridges. This makes lube oil cleaning more convenient, cost-effective and environment-friendly.
Alfa Laval solid-retaining centrifuge
Lube oil centrifugation uses a centrifugal force 5,000 times stronger than gravity to separate particles of different densities and continually directs cleaned oil back into your process. The water is released while the contaminating solids are stored separately. If your processes result in low amounts of solid waste, you can generally remove it manually. Higher waste amounts are automatically cleaned. Lube oil centrifugation can also handle large cleaning volumes and a temporary high influx of water.
