Aalborg OS-TCi
Intended for auxiliary use, Alfa Laval Aalborg OS-TCi is a fired marine boiler for producing steam. Designed with helix tubes that provide a larger heat transfer area than conventional solutions, it offers fuel-saving efficiency. Ready for the fuel transition, the OS-TCi can use oils, biofuels and one alternative fuel of your choice. Additionally, it can be configured as an electric hybrid. These options can be implemented directly, or the boiler can be prepared for their installation later.

The Aalborg OS-TCi is a marine fired boiler with decarbonization and the fuel transition in mind. Besides operating on today’s fuels, including low-sulphur fuels, biofuels and LNG, it is designed for compatibility with methanol and the other emission-reducing fuels that will appear over time. Alfa Laval’s “ready boiler” concept provides a future-proof platform, allowing the existing burner and boiler pressure section to be adjusted as needed.
Regardless which fuel is used on board, the Aalborg OS-TCi delivers fuel savings through its exceptional thermal efficiency and self-cleaning TCi (Turbo Clean, intelligent) technology. The TCi cleaning process, which promotes efficiency and ensures a long boiler service life, is automatic but can also be initiated manually.
Multi-fuel capabilities
The Aalborg OS-TCi supports multiple decarbonization strategies. Built on a fuel-flexible boiler platform, it can operate on oils and biofuels – and be configured for an additional alternative: LNG, methanol or ammonia.*

Hybrid operation with electricity
As well as supporting multiple fuels, the Aalborg OS-TCi can be configured as a hybrid boiler for electric operation. This lets you cut direct emissions by taking advantage of shore power or surplus electricity on board.
Future-proof conversion options
If you aren’t ready for an alternative fuel or hybrid capability today, the Aalborg OS-TCi can still be prepared. New boilers can be delivered multi-fuel-ready and/or hybrid-ready, making later conversion easy and cost-efficient.
High-efficiency helix tubes
The helix-shaped design of the Aalborg OS-TCi tubes increases the heat transfer area, which means fuel-saving efficiency. An internal baffle forces the steam to pass through the tube bundle twice, ensuring absolutely dry steam.
Self-cleaning boiler technology
The Aalborg OS-TCi features TCi (Turbo Clean, intelligent) self-cleaning technology, which keeps the boiler running efficiently and prolongs its service life. The TCI cleaning process is automatic, but it can also be initiated manually.
LNG safety options
When using LNG, the Aalborg OL can take on additional functions. The boiler can safely combust boil-off gas (BOG) or free flow from the LNG tank, as well as the mix of inert gas and methane created before and after tank inspection.
